The NMSU Factbook presents comprehensive data about the NMSU community. The following is the faculty focused Factbook. These visualizations cover a wide array of demographic, biographical and institutional information about our students, our employees and our administration.  

Faculty Statistics for NMSU-Las Cruces Campus 

The dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of faculty statistics at New Mexico State University's Las Cruces Campus as of November 1, 2023, detailing various aspects such as faculty type, status, employment status, race/ethnicity, gender, academic rank, and earned degrees. The data reveals that the majority of the faculty (845 individuals) are classified as regular, while 267 are temporary, and only 3 are affiliated. In terms of faculty status, 52% (582 faculty members) are on the tenure/tenure track, 18% are non-tenure track, and 6% have no tenure status. Additionally, 24% of the faculty are in temporary positions. 

The employment status indicates that 75.3% (840 faculty members) are full-time, while 24.7% (275 faculty members) are part-time. Regarding race/ethnicity, 34% of the faculty identify as minorities, totaling 375 individuals, while 66% are non-minority, making up 740 faculty members. Gender distribution shows that 54% of the faculty are female (602 individuals), and 46% are male (513 individuals). The academic rank distribution highlights that a significant portion of the faculty hold the rank of professor, with 23% of the total faculty in this category. The earned degrees section reveals that most faculty members hold a doctorate degree (635), followed by those with a master's degree (328). Only a small number of faculty members have a baccalaureate degree (79) and have their degree status not reported (69). 

Overall, this dashboard provides valuable insights into the composition and qualifications of the faculty at NMSU's Las Cruces Campus, offering a detailed look at the diversity, employment status, and academic achievements within the faculty body.
