The NMSU Factbook presents comprehensive data about the NMSU community. The following is the student focused Factbook. These visualizations cover a wide array of demographic, biographical and institutional information about our students, our employees and our administration.

The dashboard illustrates the student enrollment trends at New Mexico State University's Las Cruces Campus from Fall 1890 to the current Fall semester. The graph tracks both the headcount (HC) and the Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) of students over the decades, showing a significant growth in enrollment, particularly from the 1960s onward, peaking in the early 2000s. The recent data shows a slight decline in both headcount and FTE, reflecting changing enrollment patterns in recent years.
The lower section of the dashboard provides a detailed comparison of undergraduate and graduate enrollment for the Fall semesters from 2019 to 2023. The data shows a steady enrollment trend, with slight fluctuations in both undergraduate and graduate numbers. In Fall 2019, the campus had 11,663 undergraduate students and 2,615 graduate students. By Fall 2023, undergraduate enrollment increased to 12,107, while graduate enrollment slightly increased to 2,666.

The majority of both male and female students are degree-seeking, with 96.3% of males and 95.6% of females pursuing degrees. At the undergraduate level, there are 7,085 female students compared to 4,967 male students, while among graduate students, females account for 1,556 students, and males comprise 1,058 students. Most students, regardless of gender, are enrolled full-time, with 6,583 females and 4,657 males attending full-time, and 2,058 females and 1,398 males enrolled part-time.
Over the past five years, the proportion of female students has remained stable, increasing slightly to 58.5% in Fall 2023, while the proportion of male students has seen a slight decrease to 41.0%. Additionally, the dashboard shows that within the Hispanic student population, there is a significant gender gap, with 5,221 females compared to 3,261 males. Similar trends are observed among non-resident students and those classified as "Other Minority," where females also outnumber males.
